About Hawaii State

Hawaii is a state in the Western United States, located in the Pacific Ocean about 2,000 miles from the U.S. mainland. It is the only state outside North America, the only state that is an archipelago, and the only state in the tropics.

The 137 islands, islets and shoals that make up the Hawaiian Island chain sit at the northern tip of the Polynesian Triangle, an expanse of ocean roughly the size of Europe and North America combined.

Hawaii is a volcanic archipelago and an American state. It is located in the Central Pacific Ocean and is made up of hundreds of islands that span a distance of 2,451km. Only 8 of these islands are commonly known and just 6 are regularly visited. They include Hawai’i Island, Maui, Oahu, Kauai, Molokai and Lanai.

History and culture play a big role in Hawaii’s mesmerising diversity. Originally settled by the ancient Polynesians, Hawaii has since welcomed explorers and migrants from Europe, China, the Philippines, and Japan.
